What makes us different?
While many local small scale oyster farms are tucked away in the sheltered inter coastal waters or along the sandy bay flats, our farm lies submerged 3.5 miles offshore, in the open expanse of the Delaware Bay.
Fresh
Our oysters thrive in the nutrient-rich, oxygenated waters of the Delaware Bay, where constant submersion in strong currents provides a steady food supply, flushes away sediment, and produces clean shells with plump, flavorful meat.
Clean
Our offshore sub tidal oysters are naturally protected from the risks of rain runoff, bird predation, and prolonged sun exposure — factors known to compromise oyster quality.
Oysters
From first seed to final shuck - it’s what we do. Our livelihood is seated in a reputation to deliver safe, premium oysters. This pride and knowledge translates into a product that meets the highest standards.
The result is an oyster that combines the bold, natural flavor of a wild harvest with the refined aesthetic of a farm-raised oyster.
This is us.
Randy & Courtney
Southern State Oyster Co. was born out of a big shift — stepping away from the long, grueling days of commercial scalloping, Randy and I wanted to build something closer to home and heart. We wanted more than just work. We wanted something we could grow together as a family.
Now, we’re raising top-quality Delaware Bay oysters from our boat, the Cookie Monster, and building a brand that brings people together — around raw bars, backyard coolers, and coastal pride. Every oyster we harvest is part of something bigger: a slower, saltier, more meaningful way of life.
Thanks for being part of it
